Thinker : Being : Reality is Fluid

When I talk about a situation with a friend, I'll say "Well, I think what is going on is this....". Then a week later, I discover, it really is as I said.

You can say that I was just making an accurate observation or good intuitive guess, but I think that in some situations, the reality isn't determined at the time of saying. It is only the act of saying that makes the world what it is.

Cold fusion is a favorite example. The discoverers of cold fusion thought that, perhaps, physics allowed for the process of cold fusion. They looked for evidence of it and discovered the process existed. The men believed in the process, and so it appeared. They got scared, or like a gambler on a streak and suddenly out of luck, they lost the magic and the cold fusion process fell out of reality.

The world wasn't ready for cold fusion. We scared it away.
